Multi Phase Meter Installation & Exchange Course

Overview:

This course equips engineers with the knowledge, skills, and safety awareness to competently install, exchange, and commission multi-phase electricity meters in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company procedures. This course covers the installation, maintenance, and exchange of multi-phase meters, focusing on more complex metering setups used in industrial and large commercial installations.

Demonstrate safe isolation, testing, and verification procedures for multi-phase systems.
Correctly install and exchange multi-phase meters, including smart metering technologies.

REGT1: Medium Pressure Meter Installations

Overview:

The REGT1 course is designed to equip gas engineers with the knowledge, practical skills, and safety awareness required to competently install, commission, exchange, and maintain medium pressure gas meters in accordance with industry standards, legislation, and company procedures. REGT1 assesses competence in the installation, testing, and commissioning of medium-pressure meter regulators, specifically meters with capacities up to 40 cubic meters per hour.

What you can do after completion:

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Understand legislative and regulatory requirements governing medium pressure meter work.
Apply correct procedures for risk assessment, site preparation, and safe systems of work.
Install, commission, and test medium pressure gas meters and associated pipework.

CMA1 & MET1 Assessment (Initial)

Overview:

The CMA1 & MET1 Initial Assessment Training Course is designed for new entrants seeking to become qualified in the safe installation, exchange, and maintenance of domestic gas meters. The course provides learners with the essential knowledge, practical skills, and regulatory understanding required to meet the Nationally Accredited Certification Scheme (ACS) standards. This course is for Engineers whose certificate has expired more than 12 months ago.

Upon successful completion, candidates will be eligible to undertake gas work relating to the installation and exchange of domestic gas meters under the scope of CMA1 (Core Gas Safety – Meter Installer) and MET1 (Gas Meter Installation).

Demonstrate understanding of domestic gas safety legislation, standards, and responsibilities.
Apply correct procedures for tightness testing, purging, and dealing with gas escapes.

CMA1 & MET1 Assessment (Refresher)

Overview:

This refresher course is designed for experienced engineers and operatives who already hold CMA1 (Core Domestic Gas Safety – Meters) and MET1 (Domestic Gas Meter Installation) qualifications and are due to renew their ACS certification.

The course ensures delegates are fully updated on current industry standards, legislation, and safe working practices relating to domestic gas meter installation, exchange, and maintenance. It also provides revision and assessment opportunities to demonstrate ongoing competence.

What you can do after completion:

By the end of the course, delegates will:

Refresh their knowledge of gas safety legislation, standards, and procedures.
Demonstrate competence in identifying and managing gas safety risks.
Safely carry out installation, exchange, commissioning, and disconnection of domestic gas meters.
Correctly apply tightness testing, purging, and relighting procedures.

Maintain compliance with Gas Safe Register and industry requirements.

CMA3 & MET1 Training & Assessment

Overview:

This combined training and assessment programme is designed for individuals working within the gas and energy sector who require certification in CMA3 (Core Domestic Gas Safety – Meter Installations) and MET1 (Domestic/Small Commercial Gas Meter Installation and Exchange).

The course provides participants with the knowledge, practical skills, and competency assessments necessary to safely and lawfully install, exchange, and commission domestic and small commercial gas meters in line with industry regulations, Gas Safe Register requirements, and relevant health & safety legislation.

Successful completion enables candidates to demonstrate competence in accordance with national standards and provides a recognised pathway for Gas Safe registration.

Understand core domestic gas safety principles relevant to metering.
Carry out visual and operational safety checks prior to installation or exchange.
Safely install, commission, and decommission gas meters in line with CMA3 and MET1 scopes.

The course covers regulatory standards, health and safety requirements, installation techniques, fault diagnosis, and customer communication, preparing candidates for successful completion of the MET1 assessment.
